Context, context!

Romans 8:1 ;
"For there is therefore now NO condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."

Yes, we've read that verse a zillion times but do we still see it as a fresh each time we read it? Or has it become a cliche.

Why can't so many Christians see the obvious fact- that there is therefore now no condemnation for us who are in Jesus.PERIOD.

As people get more "advanced" in the faith, they tend to re-interpret this verse by saying that sin can separate us from His love. Yes,someone had actually said that statement during one of the Wednesday's prayer meet. How blind could that person be? Go figure. Isn't it so crystal clear from the verses below?

Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So friends, lets continue holding on to our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour and lets read and digest His word without adding our own twist to it.

Lets not try to be smart and add to or subtract from His Word. I shall end with these verses dedicated especially to those people who twist the Word of God to their own liking and add some "juice" in here and there.

Pro 9:6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

2Co 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

  1. well said. sometimes i just dun understand why ppl cannot understand the simple faith. everything is just so SIMPLE! those memory verses we used to memorize in sunday school, still fresh in my mind. they are so simple why ppl wanna make it complicated? izit when human brain growing more advanced, they tend to out-grow the grace of God and question about His gift for human? or maybe they tot if they make other ppl doubt they'll get a bigger portion of the gift? or do they feel more high and mighty if they make u feel smaller? it's just plain stupidity sorry to say.

  2. I guess its inevitable that people will tend to use their human intelligence to comprehend God's word just to show off their knowledge, and in most cases, its when they've ran out of fresh revelation from the Holy Spirit so they try to fill that gap, sadly.

  4. I think the reason they are saying that ie. sin can separate us from the love of God is because they don't fully understand the message of grace. As for my understanding, sin does cause us to be far from God, but NOT God far from us. See the difference? Our human mind tells us if we do something wrong, God will not be pleased and therefore we loose the confidence coming to Him in full boldness. You see, people tend to focus on their own doings a lot (it's all about ME...kinda).

    Dear brothers and sisters, God sees us as NEW CREATION. Is that conditional? Yes. As long as we are IN CHRIST. So now, you can briefly guess where you are if you still think 'highly' of the power of your sin which can actually separate you from the love of God... uh huh...

  5. Well said, Jac.I agree with you totally.Jesus said that those whom the Father has given to Him He will not let go. But we ourselves can choose to release ourselves from His grip.That's called free will.See,the fact still remains that NOTHING can ever separate us from the love of God, not even sin or the devil.In fact, satan's power over us is broken the moment He was raised from the dead and the moment we said YES to Jesus! But d only thing that can separate us is our own choice.I guess that answers the question of Once Saved Always Saved.
